About

This is a publishing platform built to a single stubborn constraint: a reader should get the whole page in under 100 KB, in under 100 ms, on a bad connection.

Everything else follows from that. No front-end framework, no webfonts, no third-party scripts, no image that has not been measured. The document is rendered once by the server, cached in memory, and served again until something actually changes.

What you will find here

Notes on performance engineering, Postgres, Go and the craft of shipping software that stays fast after the launch post is forgotten. Long enough to be useful, short enough to finish with one coffee.

How it is built

Layer Choice Why
Renderer Go html/template compiled once at boot, zero runtime
Database PostgreSQL 16 full-text search, real transactions, one dependency
CSS hand-written, ~9 KB no framework, no build step, inlined
JS ~2 KB, vanilla progressive enhancement only
Cache in-process, generational correctness you cannot get subtly wrong

The admin console has the same editor features you would expect from a mature CMS: drafts, scheduling, revisions, media with responsive variants, moderated comments, redirects, sitemaps and per-post SEO fields.

If you want to argue with any of it, the contact page has a form.
